  1. Radar has a moving configuration that allows Officers to clock vehicles while their patrol car is moving.  Radar is a tool and is not even needed to make a traffic stop for speeding.   The Police may make a traffic stop or other investigative stop anytime they have Reasonable Suspicion.  See Terry v. Ohio:

So it is perfectly okay, no matter what direction vehicles are going.

  2. Yes they can, there are radar units that emit two different radar beams.....one pointing straight ahead, while the other points to the left to pick up oncoming traffic.

  3. Yep they can. Radar guns work when the car is moving. Older ones in the past did not but they are now able to radar you when they are moving.

  4. 99.9999999% of  the time if a police officer does it, chances are it was legal.

Yes, radar has moving mode which can measure speed going in both directions.

  5. Moving Radar is accurate.  Stationary radar is accurate.  LIDAR (laser) is accurate.  Airborne speed measuring is accurate.

Diamond - I agree, following the law is quite inconvenient.

    Ya....especially the seatbelt part.

    ...Please..

  6. No. Only if your are going East and he is going West.

    Good Luck

  7. I won't allow you to know all the secrets but generally radar works by sending signals/beams in a direction and when it hits metal/vehicles it bounces back.

The faster the signal is coming in closer and closer or farther or farther toward or away respectively the faster the vehicle speed.  The radars are good enough to do this while both vehicles are moving and/or if they are standing still and only the target vehicle is moving.

  8. Yea its legal it happened to me. I also have been pulled over by cops monitoring speed via airplane and by a cop on the side of the road that had some1 ELSE pulled over and they flagged me down and got me for not having a seatbelt. Its rather a bit much if u ask me. Cops are always watching
