usually, in the states, legal blood alcohol level has to be under 0.08 and one sip of wine won't get you there, let alone drunk.

They don't sense it in your blood, they smell it on your breath and coming from your pores. Upon further investigation they determine if you are intoxicated or not. If you have only one sip, you have nothing to worry about...unless you are under 21, and then it is an automatic DUI.

No.  Not just one sip.....However,

Most street savvy cops can definitely sense when someone is lying to them.  If you had a drink of wine and then lied to the police officer who asked you about it, chances are that he or she knows that you are lying.

Kind like a parent who can tell when their kids are lying.

This would make them appear to have super alcohol sensing powers.

Of course, it depends on how you define a "sip".

No. You would have to drink more to get the BAC level up.

Of course, how much depends on the type and the alcohol concentration.

It would not register in your blood, but it would register on a breath test if it was done within 15 minutes of the drink.  It takes that long for the alcohol to absorb into your mouth tissues.

The cop can't sense anything, but the breathalizer can.  One sip of wine won't show up on the test, though, unless it was a sip that emptied the entire glass!

Cops are not like some kind of superhero you know. They don't "Sense" things normal people can't sense. A bloodhound might know you have some alcohol in your blood but no one else will. One sip isn't even really enough to get the alcohol into your blood. One sip of wine isn't even enough to get you a DUI so why are you so worried? A cop's not going to arrest you for a sip of wine for any reason, even if you are a minor. (though they may lecture the person who gave it to you)

Even if he could with a breath analyzer as long as you are within the legal limits which you would be unless you consumed a bottle in one sip then there is nothing he can do

First of all the cop isnt gonna take your blood. If a blood test is done its done at a  hospital.

But many cops do seem to have a really good nose for alchol. They can smell it if you had a drink.

lol!  cops can't sense anything in your blood!  they don't have superpowers.  if you're referring to a breathalizer which measures your blood-alcohol-content, then one sip of wine would show you are way under the legal limit and you're fine.
