Can a cop write a ticket for not wearing eye protection on a motorcycle?!?

This doesnt make sense to me. What do they care if your wearing eye protection or not?

A cop can write you a ticket for pretty much anything the want. And if not they will find a reason.

A cop try giving my husband a ticket but a state cop said to the local cop that if there is a windshield on the bike that the same as glasses. So if you have a windshield it your option as long as the windsheild cover your eyes.

I ride too. If you lose vision and only kill yourself, it's up to you. If you lose your vision and kill or injure someone else, that's a freedom you don't have. Be responsible dude.

it's the law if your hit in the eye you can cause an accident. Use you head man it not just a hat rack

Most states do require eye protection on motorcycles, even if they don't have helmet laws.  Even sunglasses will meet this requirement.

Not wearing a helmet doesn't increase your chances of getting in an accident - it just increases the chances that you will be critically injured.

Not wearing eye protection increases the chances that you will lose control over the motorcycle and injure yourself or others.  If you're on the highway and get hit in the eye by a bug or tiny pebble at 60 mph it's going to get a lot harder to handle your bike.

Ok think about this. you're not wearing eye gear. something hits you in the eye. you crash and cause a 5 car pile up and a bunch of people die including a few orphans eating christmas dinner. does it makes sense now? people like you shouldn't be allowed to ride.
