  1. you can absolutely wear glasses as a C.O.  besides, you do go through a physical in the hiring process.  so, if you need corrective glasses, you will have to wear them.  word to the wise...if you wear them and start working in a prison...never put them down!  an inmate will be wearing them before you even notice you don't have them.

  2. Only if the guard can't see without them.

  3. yea, y not? It would be a good idea to get contacts or corrective surgery, if u know anything about inmates they're a sneaky bunch.

  4. Yes they can.  We have had Officers that wore glasses and they were just fine, some of them couldn't see well with out them and they did alright.

I my self wore contacts when I worked, but some times I wore my glasses on the job.

I know some of them who later had the surgery to correct their vision so that they no longer have to wear glasses, they are still doing well.

So Yes a person can wear glasses and work as a Correctional Officer.

I hope this helps answer your question.  I wish you all the best.  God bless.

  5. YES. NO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE CONTACTS. THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE I KNOW PERSONALLY THAT WEAR GLASSES AND WORK AS CORRECTION OFFICERS. TRUST ME I USED TO DO IT, FOR THREE YEARS!
