  1. yep.

  2. Eek! I hope not! O.o

  3. If your dead body is floating in the ocean yes.

  4. If your dead the Crabs will eat ya.

  5. Depends. There are some crabs, such as the Coconut Crab, that might be able to cut your toe off with their pinchers.

  6. Some can work their way through your toe in you are dead, anesthetized or have advanced leprosy.  But no crab can get through  your toe-bone in one big chomp.  (I suppose the bigger ones if very lucky might get through between a joint but the odds are low).

Kick off your steel toed boots and take a nap-  but sleep lightly.

  7. Some crabs are fierce predators with powerful claws and could *littorally* eat off your toe (sorry, bad marine biology pun) if you allowed them to. But of course you wouldn't allow that.

This is not something you need to worry about. If you go in the ocean and something pinches your foot just run away. People can run faster than crabs. If a crab pinches you it's to defend itself, not because it wants to eat you.

  8. Does this keep you awake at night?

    -just wondering

  9. If you are referring to whether or not a crab can eat off your toe while you are having a fun day at the beach and you get a pinched toe while out in the water, then the answer would be no.

However if you are dead and have sunk down to the bottom of the ocean floor, crabs are the oceans garbage men and they will not only dispose of your toes but they will be happy to chow down on the rest of you as well.

  10. Coconut crabs can cut coconuts off the tree. Compared to that, your toe would be nothing.
