  1. Some old cars (back in the pre 60's time) car's didn't have title.

But these days NO TITLE = NO OWNERSHIP !!

    No questions !!!

The TITLE is the certificate of ownership.  If they allow that, we would have string of stolen cars being sold at auction.

    Good Luck...

  2. carfax.com

  3. Nope, not legal at all!!! I don't care where you are from, you have to show legal ownership of an automobile before you can accept payment for sale of one. Sorry...

Do a carfax search on the car to see if it has been "totalled" or is reported missing or stolen. I sincerely hope for your sake that the seller has just genuinely lost the title and will produce one soon.

  4. i think you would get lost title filing but i have never heard of soomeone selling car with out title

  5. In NC yes it is, especially since you bought it from an auction. I know down at Mendenhall in High Point, if you don't have the title for it, you have to let that be known as the car is going through the auction bay.. They'll sale it AS IS .. with no title.

  6. As long as they can provide a clear title to you for the car, it is completely legal. They probably just got the car as a trade and the title had not been received by them before they decided to "roll" it. (A little surprising but not illegal)

  7. I don't think so. Call the sheriff's department there and ask them. It might be stolen.

  8. how dumb of the dealer....they could get into good trouble
