Can a democrat be pro life?

it is a main party platform pretty much set in stone. If you are pro life you already are fighting a losing battle as there is no way you will ever change it. has there ever been an attempt by pro life democrats to change it.

In spite of media propaganda most people are not single issue voters, they vote on an average of their perception on between 3 and 5 issues with their primary assessment being made on candidate likability, charisma or how well they relate to the candidate.

No. You said it: the party platform set it in stone. If you want to be pro-life, you cannot be a Democrat. There were many former Democrats who had to leave the party because of this issue.

yes, they can be, not all people just simply lump into their parties catagory. I am mainly a liberal on most issues, yet I am pro-life (Although I am not old enough to vote, I am planning on registering Independent)

I'm pro life, but by the same accord, I'm also pro choice- I can't tell other people what to do with their bodies, and what decisions they should make regarding their bodies or personal health. Even if abortion becomes a crime punishable by decapitation, there will still be women who will choose to abort and somehow carry it out. Republicans are always on about less government when it comes to things such as gun laws, but then they turn around and want to take control when it comes to issues such as abortion and wiretapping. Which is it? More government in our lives? Less government in our lives? WHICH WAY??????

yes you can be a prolife democrat if you mostly believe in all other democratic views, you dont have to agree with 100% everything democrat ways to be one, its really a matter of which views are more important you. I however agree almost 100% with democrats, OBAMA FOR '08!!!!!!!!!

Yes and its possible for a Republican to be pro-choice. You need to just make a decision as to which party has most of your values. You won't find you agree with everything.
