  1. lol?

    Ya I'd Definately go there!

  2. 18 or 19 states have already passed laws allowing hygienists to practice with little or no supervision.

Conneticut, Colorado, Minnesota, Massachusetts (I believe), are 4 of them. I don't think NY is one of the states though. New Hampshire and Maine are trying, but not there yet.

Colorado is the only one that allows no supervision by a dentist.

The main reason this has started is because of the lack of dentists graduating. Many rural areas in all states are completely without dental help. There is a new bill that is being passed for an Expanded Duties Hygienist that can do limited dental procedures and prescriptions. This will allow dental care to be provided in areas where a dentist is no where around or even in medical facilities. The hygienist will have to get a Masters in this field and right now, Minnesota I believe has the only classes available.

I'm in AR. and we are not one of the states. I don't believe it is any of the middle section of states. Texas won't even allow anesthesia by a hygienist, much less a practice.

  3. I dont know NY, but Im pretty sure in FL thats a no!
