Can a dental hygienist with an AS degree teach ?

or do i need a BS degree to be able to teach dental assistant or dental hygienist ?Right now I'm going to school to become an RDA ,then i want to do hygiene ..but i don't want just as As degree , i would also like to teach .most cc offer as degree , any idea how i can advance [bs] degree with something in the same field?

While dentistry is rather outside my field of expertise, I, too, would like to teach someday soon in my profession.  I know that for me, a BSN (or to be working on one) is required to teach nursing students but if I chose to I could teach nursing aides/assistants right now.  You may already be qualified to teach dental assistants/technicians.  I suggest you contact a school of dentistry or a proprietary school and ask them what the specific requirements are.  If you don't know what a proprietary school is, research the term and consider this part of your own education.  I believe there are BS programs in dental hygiene.  Check the colleges and universities in your area.
