Can a dentist do this?

I have a abscess tooth that needs to be pulled. But before my dentist pulls it don't I need to take penicillin to get the infection to go away? I am so scared that my dentist is just going to pull it anyways and that infection is going to drain all in my mouth. How can I make sure he gives me medication to clear it away?

  1. If he/she is a licensed dentist then he'll/she'll know how to remove the tooth safely.

I'm pretty sure they go to school to learn dentistry (or something like that.)

  2. usually the first thing in infection control is to remove the cause and in your case the cause is the infected tooth, and after that the remaining infection will be cleared out by using appropriate antibiotics, which I'm sure your dentist will advise you after your tooth extraction.

  3. there supposed to put a certain type of shot in your gums to make your mouth numb so it wont hurt.. they dont give you any medication unless its your wisdom teeth "] i got my k9s pulled cause they were infected and wouldnt come out themselves and you just half to chew soft stuff

  4. THE WAY IT HAPPENS IS THAT #1 THE DENTIST PULLS THE TOOTH , AND #2 THE SAME DAY HE SENDS YOU HOME  WITH A PRESCRIPTION FOR ANTIBIOTICS.

FOR  A TOOTH EXTRACTION THERE IS NO NEED TO WAIT FOR THE ABSCESS TO CLEAR FIRST.

  5. Most times they do give antibiotic first, but if it is hurting that bad they may go ahead and pull it then give antibiotics
