okay so im 16 right now (from toronto, canada) and i have extremely high grades and im in all advanced classes at school. In a few years i want to go to med school and become a doctor. Ive visited australia 3 times (at 9, 14, 15) and it was the greatest, most beautiful place in the world and i want to live there for the rest of my life. If i were to finish up university in toronto and than move to australia could i go straight to a career right away or would i be held back for jobs because im an imigrant? what would be the downfall in a doctor from canada moving to australia financialy and would there be much oppourtunity?

  1. all-ways after doctors here so when you become one i think you will have no problem at all & a big plus for us is that we will be able to understand what you say(bit hard to understand a lot of DR's that come here from other country's)

  2. Doctors are in HIGH demand in Australia and too be honest in the past 4 years I have not seen an Australian Dr, they are always immigrants!

See the immigration website on information and visa options for doctors and nurses who want to work in Australia.

Good Luck - but sounds like you don't need it you brainy person you !

  3. i am in the same situation as you, for i to wish to become a doctor, yet i want to do it over seas for it is not only more culturaly enriched, but it takes less time to become a doctor. the rules for european doctors is that they have universities where the citizens of all major countries are required to take a massive test, or bachalorea, and score very well in order to get in. It is like a blown up SAT in a way. Anyways, after scoring well enough on this test to get into their university, they then move on the a few years, not the full 4 of american college, of basic education. After this they do not require you go to a seperate school, but you go to a certain faculty within the university and begin your medical training then. The upside is that it not only takes less time to become a doctor there, but it also costs less money. Then, once you have achieved the doctor status, upon reentering your country, mine being american, you must take a test to be able to continue working as a doctor. From what i have heard however, this test is extremely simple, and once you pass it is very easy to find a good job and begin your life. Good Luck!
