Yes.  However, donkeys are usually more upright in the shoulder and pastern joints than horses are, and as a consequence have a less-springy, shorter stride than horses.  Donkeys are also of more pragmatic and less "hot" temperament than a horse; by themselves, if something startles them, they're more likely to watch the situation than to get worked up and trot around like a loose horse will.

  4. Yes they have the same gaits as a horse. People even use donkeys in dressage.
