We need to do dirt work & put a foundation under the house due to constant level problems. We were wondering if the house could be moved over without being taken apart & then put back on the foundation.

  1. any building mover could accomplish this with ease. they will support the whole home on cross beams and slide it over. when you are ready they will slide it back in place. one has mentioned that you could raise the home to drill your footers and then drop it back down in place after they have been installed. it takes patience and a lot of time but it can be done.

  2. I trust I'm not reading to deep into your question.I get the feeling your home is on concrete blocks and tied down.If this is the case I would certainly look into Helical Piers.I have used these on several occasions with great success.

Look at this link and find a company that does this, generally consultations are free. This would be more cost effective if they can do it.

  3. no it will have to be taken in 2 sections

  4. I live next to one of the largest manufactured home factories in southern california and I have never ever seen them move a double wide in one piece. We always have them up and down our roads being moved in one piece per side.

  5. I worked on mobiles homes as a service and set up man. You must separate the two halves to move them.  If you try to move it without taking it apart, God help you. I would not even consider trying it.

  6. It's physically possible but they usually break it up because otherwise it would hog up the whole road and you can't restrict traffic like that.  But if you're just talking about moving it around your property and not onto a public road, there should be a mover out there that can do that.  Look for one that relocates old houses.

  7. I`m sure that most house movers could do that, why not call them and ask? Notice that no one paid attention that all you need to do is move the house out of the way , Not down the road. You can just have it lifted , and work can be done under it while it is raised. Lots cheaper than rigging it for a move.
