  1. Yes, it's called a projector. You can input a dvd, tv, bluray, etc. like a tv and project the image onto a large screen or wall.

    www.projectorcentral.com

has reviews and lots of info.

  2. i got a projector on ebay for 127.00  it retails for 995.00, it only had 30 hours used on the bulb out of the 2,000. To mount it i just put a normal shelf and sat it on it. The screens on the other wall across the room, i just got a regular bad sheet and cut and sewed it to fit and tacked it up with some extra long tacks.

  3. Yes. It's called front projection. Depending on the projector and room size you can go larger 150" diagonal screen. There are 4 different projector technologies, CRT, LCD, DLP and LCOS. CRT's are very large and are not really produced in great numbers any more. LCD and DLP are the most common and offer high definition resolutions of 720p or 1080p.

LCOS is very similar to LCD but boast a better native contrast ratio. Contrast ratio is the difference between the blackest black and the whitest white. Typically the better the contrast ratio the better the picture quality.

To use a projector you will also need a suitable screen to project on to. Some people just paint their wall white where other buy premade screens. Some premade screens can retract up where others are fixed like a picture frame on the wall.
