  1. Anorexia nervosa is more of a psychological disorder than a physical one. It has to do with self-esteem issues, and I've never known an animal to think they look fat. So no. Elephants can not be "anorexia." They can starve to death, but they can not be anorexic.

I can't speak for elephants exactly, however it is not unusual for animals to develop anorexia; for very different reasons than us humans.  Animals don't develop anorexia because they think they look fat and such, instead due to stress, illness and other things that can change an animals eating pattern.  Sometimes the animal will lose the taste for food and simply won't eat.  When this happens the animal will need to be force fed high calorie foods in order to regain the desire to eat.  While rare, it is a very serious problem with animals, especially ones in smaller size.
