  1. Yes. They can't penalize you for what a family member has done in the past. Unfortunately we can't pick our family.

  2. Sure, this country does not visit the sins of the fathers on the children even unto the first generation.

  3. yes

  4. If it was a husband or wife with the felony that could potentially be a big problem. But a father or in-law would not be a problem.

For the jobs that you listed you would be OK. But as another answer alluded to...... It would be a really good idea to not have them living with you.

If you were going after a very high clearance military or government wise it could get sticky and might slow you you down a tad but that can ultimately be dealt with.

You don't have to pay for the mistakes of your family. You are a seperate person.

  5. I believe as long as you are up front with the answers they ask you it is. If you try and hide any thing itisn' that's with anything in your back ground.

  6. Yes, you certainly can.  Criminal convictions of others are not taken into account for employment.

  7. Yes, the only problem would be for Top Secret, or higher, when that family member is a member of your immediate household.

  8. Yes. The "sins of the father" are NOT inherited. But the question will always be there, did you know of the crimes and NOT tell?

  9. My wife is a nurse of twenty years and has a brother who has spent more than 2/3 of his life in jail on various drug and violence offenses. She has security clearance for several government and military agencies.

Don't lie about it on the application and it all usually works out quite well.
