Can a female beach volleyball player wear a shirt like the men in the Olympics, or would she be disqualified?

I don't know the olympic ruling on this but here is my input:

I play in AVP sponsored tournaments nearly every weekend about an hour from my house and every girl is wearing a bathing suit.. BY CHOICE.  There are no rules no regulations on what you wear in avp events, it is a choice they make.

And I've seen men playing with speedos.  it is kind of gross.

Because if it wasn't for the bikinis, no one would watch women's volleyball.  It's also why the women wear such tight spandex in indoor v-ball.  It's sexist and sad, but true.  I think it demeans the purity of the sport, and I don't understand why more women don't complain about it.  Lots of people (including women, surprisingly) argue that spandex helps with performance; but, if that were true, then why don't female basketball and soccer players wear spandex?
