Can a female striped convict mate with a female pink kissing gourami?((hurry and ANSWER))

i baught a male striped convict to mate with one of the three of my pink kissing gouramis and it turns out all 3 of the pink kissers are males.

so if i buy a female pink kisser could i breed them?

also what if its the other way around male pink kisser and female striped convict please hurry and answer:)

  1. They will not mate, due to the fact that fish normally are not cross-breeding animals, unlike dogs or cats.  


  2. No they will not mate, cichlids and gourami are from different families. Decide whether you want to breed kissing gourami or convict, or both, but you cannot cross breed them.

  3. Umm...I don't think you can do that because they are two WAY different types of fish! The only fish I know of that can interbreed would be platys and swordtails.

    Edit: Oh I think they meant they can go in the same tank. But as far as mating that is a definite negative. You can't really always trust those people who work at pet stores....they aren't always the most educated
