Can a fielder in softball or baseball kick the batted ball to another fielder to get an out?

uh ya if the ball gets there before the runner that makes sense that he would be out doesn't it?

you can do what ever it takes to stop er play the ball. :]

There is nothing in the rules prohibiting it, and Paul O'Neill (when he was with the Reds) once did so. He was running in on a ball to short RF and simply could not get a handle on it, swung his left foot in frustration and kicked the ball perfectly back to the infield.

You CAN, but I wouldn't recommend it...it isn't likely to work with any consistency.  ;-)

I'd say yes, its no differance then a ball hit off a pitcher or any other players foot to a position player!

Of course it's perfectly legal. Why would anyone think it is against the rules?
