  1. No.  Ana Ivanvic (sp) the top ranked woman can't beat the competition on a (women) regular basis - no way can she beat Djokovic, Nadal, & Federer.

  2. pan15 how can you think women and men are equally powerful in tennis? The fastest ever women's serve, I believe, is 129mph, and the fastest ever mens serve is 155mph, or around that figure at least. Furthermore, have you seen the speed of Nadal's forehand, or Roddicks, or Federer's forehand? They would absolutely BURN any of the women's forehands. Also when the men players do an overhead smash it makes the womens smash look silly.

I'm not trying to offend womens tennis, in any way, but in tennis women and men are not equal. Men are more powerful, that is a fact.

  3. Yeah Ana Ivanovic beats her childhood friend all the time, and Novak  has no problem with it.  since the two of them enjoy practicing against each other for fun. and at the same time there getting better by facing each other

  4. Probably. I think Serena Williams could beat one of the men ranked in the 50's or higher then that. it depends...

  5. A few points maybe, but realistically and in common sense terms, a first-class woman player wouldn't be able to beat a professional male in the 1000s.  Nothing wrong with that.  That's why there are separate disciplines - men play with the men and women competing with women, for it to make simple sense and to keep it at a right playing level each for competing.

  6. Hey, anythings possible.

  7. Well the answer is most likely no.

About 10 years ago ATP pro Carston Braasch, ranked 250 something in the world at the time and a smoker was sitting in the players lounge when he overhears the Williams sisters inquiring about hitting with some male players.  Carston got up and agree to play both sisters.

In the ensuing match he played each sister one set and destroyed both of them.

  8. Men are physically stronger so I do not think they could.  The women might be able to win a few points but wining the game I do not think so.

  9. Well, I would say that a first class woman tennis player CAN'T beat a man in the Top 100.  I would say she could give number 250 and above a run for his money.  Men are just stronger and quicker.

  10. Venus could beat hewitt, bottom line. There you go.

  11. There was a match a long time ago - Bobby Riggs vs Billy Jean King. He challenged her for a match and she accepted. And she won.

There was also some personality who bet that Martina Navratilova will never beat any of the top 100 ranked men. Martina didn't care too much about the male vs female challenges.

It all depends on the top form that both the male and the female player is in I guess.

I think both men and women are equally powerful.

My father lifts heavier things, and whines for a week if he catches a cold.

My mother lifts lighter things, but she gave birth to babies.
