  1. It will in no way hurt your TV if you place it GENTLY on the carpet on its backside or frontside most Panasonics (They make some of the highest rated plasma TVs on the market according to consumer reports book of 2007...) come with the TV pedestal unattached and the only way to put it on is to either tip it on the front side or tip it on the backside just make sure it has a soft surface to rest upon and be very genital.

  2. My understanding is you should ALWAYS try to AVOID laying a plasma on its front or back because of the tremendous weight of the glass. It apparently can crack under the pressure especially if you transport it that way. If you want to risk it, i would gently lay it on its back on something like a bed and really try to minimize and bumps and jolts. Otherwise play it safe and try to do what you need to do with the unit upright.

    Good luck.

  3. Yes, you can. I have done it way too many times.

Just make sure you don't scratch the panel or the bezel. (use a blanket or something soft)
