  1. No, the rain kills them. It is too cold anyway.

  2. i am imagining a fly at hi-speed manouvering trying to avoid giant droplets of water falling like missiles.....

    ...maybe,....

  3. Yes and Yes,

  4. All insects dash for cover when it starts raining.

  5. a fly can't fly in a heavy rain

  6. No they cannot because water would collect on it's wings and would weigh it down until they are too heavy to fly.

Also, in terms of size imagine a rain droplet the size of an airplane actually striking an airplane.   What do you think the outcome would be?

The best defense would be to duck, cover and wait until the storm is over.

  7. A fly can't fly in the rain because the fly's wing will collect droplets of water when it is flying and making the wings heavier by the second. So a fly can't fly in the rain.
