Can a foreigner apply for american bank account and credit card?

  1. not legally...unless you get American citizenship and a social security number first through the US government


  2. Yes to the account. They may apply as a non-resident alien. But they must provide an id number and U.S. address. I'm not sure about the credit card.

  3. Yes you can as a Canadian. I have department store accounts In Seattle and I also have an American bank account for when I shop in the U.S. These people know

    full well I am Canadian and all my stuff is mailed to my Canadian address. A lot of Canadians who live right on 'the

    line' do this for easy of shopping.

    Bank of America will give you a Credit Card but you need to apply in California.

    Bank of America is one. But you have to go to a branch and apply personally, showing your passport plus one other ID. Even if you call them (check their number in their website) ask them how you can open an account
