Can a fox be albino?

a fox ate my cat, but It looked really strange because it had white fur, Im just wondering.

  1. Albinism can affect pretty much any animal. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but it's possible. Very rare, but possible in the wild. You would more than likely see albinism more commonly in domestic organisms.

  3. Yes, all animals can throw an albino offspring.  I've seen albino deer, snakes, lizards, fish, moles, mice, rats, birds, tigers, lions, jaguars, etc.

    But, most albinos in the wild do NOT survive because their albinism creates problems with their genetics and with their ability to camouflage themselves from predators and their prey.  Therefore, I have a hard time believing it was a wild fox.  It could have been a neighbor's dog.

  4. Foxes can be albino but it is nearly unheard of that a fox would eat a cat.  A coyote is usually a lighter color than a fox and they commonly eat cats.  I would bet that a coyote ate your cat.
