  1. The short answer is no, it can't, but you have to be careful with leaving a game on pause for too long, it can leave a "burned-in" image of your game on your tv. This is less and less likely, with newer televisions as they have ways of keeping a still image "still" for too long. This is more likely with plasma screens as well.
