Can a general anesthetic affect your periods?

my period was due the start of the week..i had a general on tues..could this be causing it to be late??

  1. It shouldn't really have any effect.


  2. Yeah it totally can, it happened to me.  I would be careful and take extra precautions if you are using the pill for birth control as it could maybe effect it. Also stress can effect your period, and after having a general i am sure you could be alittle. You should go see a doctor if it doesnt start soon

  4. Ever since I had general anaesthetic when I was a little wee girl, I haven't had a period since. So it must! Unless it's because I'm male...

  5. unless your on the contraceptive pill this should not affect it! they always ask you are you on the pill before undergoing anaesthetic!
