my son has just bought a gilera gfr 125, he is still a learner. I understand the bhp should not be more than 16.5bhp can this bike be restricted?

  1. It wouldnt make sence, this bike is already restricted any less BHP and it wouldnt move never mind work properly, there are bikes out there that look very similar that are run at 50 instead of 125 if he wants the bike for the looks

  2. it will make no differance...powerwise it will only be about 5mph faster than a std one...ive never heard of anyone restricting a 125,they normsally go the other way...even by law,its impossable for the police to know if its restricted or not...as long as he is fully legit on the road thats allthere botherd about...

    EDIT

...it doesnt mater if its 50bhp...no one would know..

if your that worryed get a restrictor fitted,or disconect the power valve...takes 10 mins.

  3. if this bike is regitered as having 33bhp then your son cannot legaly ride this bike until he passes his test.the police will know this and when he gets pulled he will most probablys be done for riding a bike without a proper licence and his insurance will then be clased as void .dont risk it.get him a legal bike.
