  1. I believe you can, but ICE may tell you to hold on until all the papers are processed.  If the person is already living in the US then that would not have been a problem

  4. better to wait and apply for citizenship and then you can sponsor your husband.  it will take a lot longer if you do it with your green card.

  5. a green card holder can certainly file an immigrant visa petition for her husband under the F2a family preference category, but those petitions take 5 years before they are valid for use. Now, if the girl became a citizen while waiting the petition would be upgraded to IR-1 which would be immediately valid for use, although there would still be some processing time. So, if she filed now and became a citizen later, she might well save a fair amount of time in bringing her husband to the US. Or she can wait and file afterwards as previously suggested, but the processing time at that point would be 8 -12 months at a minimum and could take longer. i
