Can a goat have kids a month apart?

the goat had a kid a month ago and looks like she is pregnant again, could she possibly still be carrying a kid?

  1. Nope.  What you are seeing is either "baby stretch" or a healthy rumen.

Nope, gestation in a goat is five months.  I do have a few does that drop kids every 5 to 6 months, but that is unusual.  Most of the time goats have their kid, and nurse their kid for 4-6 months.  Goats that can get pregnant more than once a year, usually get pregnant every 8-9 months.  So in two years, you end up with three kid crops.

    Some does (usually the dairy breeds) only cycle in once a year in the Autumn (vs. the meat breeds which can become pregnant all year long)  So they only produce kids once a year.
