  1. Nope, I thinks its the extra pounds... =O

Average SPeed for a Race horse: 40mph

    Grizzly: 30mph

  2. It would be closer than you think, Bears can be clocked running at 20 mph, for 5 minutes NON STOP. But in an actual race, a racehorse no question.

  3. A grizzly bear can keep up with a horse for a ways. The bear can run at 35mph and keep it up for over a mile if it has to.

  4. If it has enough reason and energy to, why not?  Many factors could affect as to if a grizzly bear can outrun a racehorse.  Some of these factors are the age, health, and gender of both the Bear and the Racehorse.

  5. For short distances, yes. Horses, however, have much more endurance. Grizzly Bears can run fifty yards in three seconds. They can run about thirty five to forty miles an hour, while a racehorse typically runs about thirty. However, a racehorse would easily win the Kentucky Derby, since grizzlies are only able to keep this pace up for short distances.

  6. Grizzlies are at the top of the food chain, Horses and the man on the horse are food.

Grizzlies can outrun a horse and can do so all day says Yellow Stone Assistant Park Naturalist William E. Kearns, who studies Grizzlies.

Also explorers documented many cases of Grizzlies catching and eating horses and Indian Ponies often with a man on the horse.

  7. yeah if it eats it.
