My hamster, Cashmere Keeps climbing the bars of her cage more than usual, Running on her wheels faster than usual, She has a stick to chew on and she just keeps "swinging" on it, She keeps running around more than usual and running up & down her tunnels more than usual. Maybe she is just more healthy than when we got her...

  1. my hamster goes in heat all the time. i can smell her first, then i check by putting my finger on her back, she always freezes i take my finger away. its funny.

  2. The term in heat usually has little to do with how much energy the animal has. All female mammals, including hamsters go through an eostrus cycle in which they are able to breed. This is what the "heat" is.

Hamsters go into heat every 4 days actually, and there is little change in thier behaviour. Your hammy is probably just burning off her energy, and humping her wood chew to display dominance (which has no connection to the heat).

  3. she is just enjoying the things she has got in her cage and she is proberly enjoying herself and just having fun so dont worry about it she is fine !!!!!!!!!!!!hope this helped =)

  4. Sometimes you can tell if a hamster is in heat when she:

-Starts hoarding loads of food in her nest

    -Is more nervous or jumpy

-She freezes when you stroke her back near her tail (This method doesn't always work)

-She will give off a strong musky smell.

  5. She just likes to keep in shape. hehehhee

Female hamsters get "in the heat" all the time. UMMM SWINGING ON A STICK? hehehhee wow. that made my day. I believe what you call swinging is humping. hehehhee. She wants a boyfriend.

    hehehehehe Good Luck!
