  1. The hamster you're getting is probably a Syrian.

They are sold as Teddy bears, brown bears, goldens, pandas, etc.

Syrian hamster will KILL a cage mate.

They MUST be kept alone, otherwise they will end up injured or dead.

After they reach sexual maturity at 6 weeks it is only a matter of time before they fight, including siblings.

Please keep it alone, but give it plenty of toys. :]

  2. Generally, no. Syrian hamsters (also known as teddy bears, black bears, honey bears, goldens, dalmations, etc.) are solitary animals so you can only keep one in a cage.

Dwarf hamsters are more social and can be kept in same s*x pairs, but it's not always necessary.

I think that as long as you spend a lot of time with it, it'll be fine.

  3. LOLOLOLOOL' it's an animal. Give it a toy, and it'sset forever. When I was like 8, I had a new one like every year. haha

  4. I dont think so[:

  5. I suppose if you give it lots of attention, love and care, the hamster will be fine. But like any other living thing on this earth, having a partner or a similar species to play with, will be more ideal. Hamsters can be quite sensitive to their surroundings, so having a playmate will definitely make it's home a more cheery place! I'm sure getting another won't cost much, plus it'll give you 2 cute pets to play with! Good luck!!

  6. well what kind of hamster is it... syrian hamsters prefer to be alone while dwarf hamsters like company
