I'm going on a trip to California and I have one hamster, if you clean out the bedding, give some food, and replace the water with a new one, will it be safe and all right to stay by itself for a week? Thanks in appreciation.

And how many foods should I give her?

  1. i think it would be safe just as long as u have a close friend or relative keeping a eye on it and giving it food and water just to be on the safe side

  2. as long as it has lots of food and water it will be fine! ;-)

  3. get someone to watch her for you!

good luck! and have fun! ♥♥

  4. i think he will be fine only if you leave 2 bowls of food and extra water. hamsters drink and eat alot especially pregnant hamsters!! hope i helped!!!

  5. i do know people who leave theyre hamsters for a week and they are fine ..

but just to be on the safe side dont you have any friends or relatives she could go to for a week, or maybe a trusted friend who could come to your house and feed her.

if you contact a rescue centre or your local vets they would probly take her for a small fee

  6. I wouldn't if I were you try asking one of your closest friends if they'll watch him. Once I tried to, but my hamster, as it turns out, knew a weak spot in the cage, and was just waiting for when I wasn't there to use it to escape. If your friends aren't available, if you have younger or older bothers/sisters, ask their friends to watch it, if one of them says yes, explain to them how to care for the hamster, and then give them the bag of food, some bedding, and treats so they can change any of them if they need to.  If friends doesn't work, go to google, and research pet sitters in your town, try to track one down and make an appointment for when you will be gone. Hope I helped and good luck!
