Can a heavy double wooden gate be converted to a single gate by replacing one side of the gate with fence?

boards?? I have paid 3 people now to fix this leaning gate and I am fed up with it. I DO NOT want to hear how to repair it. I only want to know if replacing one side of the gate with 6ft. wooden boards, which is what the fence is, will work with no problems. Thanks.

Sure. No problem at all. Can even be made as a lift out panel, in case you need the wide entry at some later time.

if your question is implying removing one side of a double gate, then sure.extending the fence only presents the problem of latching the remaning gate to the new fence as this process will change the original design.a little

ingenuity and maybe a few low cost parts from a home improvement center should resolve the matter quickly.
