My company is thinking of hosting a hospitality suite for customers during a conference in Las Vegas. With everything going on there, would anyone show? Would pre or post dinner be better? Other ideas?

  1. I think a hospitality suite is a very good idea.  Many hotels on the strip do not really cater to business customers as they are not the tourist dollar rich group they target.  I know a lot of hotels such as Hilton, Harrah's and others will be happy to work with you.  Associated hotels will not allow promos or discounts for people in conventions so the hospitality suite is a way to keep them on-property.  Also, your concierge may be able to help with a group of evening options where your associates can see a show or take a tour together.  In Vegas, however, this requires some work ahead.

  2. Most Vegas conventions/conferences get lots of foot traffic, for example CES.  If attendance is big, you should not have problems hosting a hospitality suite for customers. If I were planning the suite, I would do something post dinner.  Free booze will bring people in.  Also depending on where your customers choose to dine, they could have a long wait for a table.  If you host your soiree later, the likelihood of customers showing up is better.

  3. Hospitality suites have been a function of conventions and conferences for ages in Vegas.  You have to work direclty with the casino to set it up and they do have "noise" limits.

I would recommend after, as it gives them something special to look forward to and ability to ask new questions
