I'm not sure if it's a basement or if it's another stairs-included part of the house, it looks like a log house but from the other pictures I saw of the same house the roof and walls were different. Is it possible to have an extra room/basement with wooden roof and walls?

  1. Anything is possible with money!

  2. Errmm, if you like that sort of thing; seems a bit "fondu" in an otherwise conventionally build house.

In a basement the finish would be cosmetic only, essentially planks cut from the outside of the log (normally a waste product so could turn out cheap if you find the right supplier) battened onto the block/studwork inner leaf.

If you desire an extension built "log cabin" style there is no reason why this can' tbe keyed into the rest of the structure.

  3. In my first answer I suggested a timber framed house, the inner linings could be what ever you wished.

Half round or quarter round logs couldneused as an iternal lining but I shudder at the dusting.
