Can a human use Terramycin Ophthamlic ointment for swollen infected eye?

i heard it's only for pets, is that true?

The packaging says for use in dogs only so I don't know if I would risk it.  Colloidal silver can be bought at a health food store and it works very well for eye infections.  Just a couple of drops three times a day.

I keep the drops in my fridge for my dogs.  When a chip of wood flew in my eye I used it.  It soothed the irritation and I haven't started barking yet!

I say if you need it use it - it helped me...

Well, you aren't supposed to do it, but I have.  As a former pharm tech, ALL medicines, including those for human and animal consumption, have to meet the same DEA and USDA guidelines, often with animal consumption having stricter guidelines! go figure, huh?  You might want to try a bit of a different approach to clearing up your eye infection.  Try washing your hands every single time you touch your eye.  At least 4 times a day, take a warm, wet, clean wash cloth and gently rub your tear duct 25 times in a circular motion.  Then, change the wash cloth and rub 25 times in a different direction.  Wash hands again.  I've used this method for a few years, including on my children, and we haven't had to go see the doctor for eye infections since then!

Dogs and humans aren't the same. So i wouldn't use it. Dogs eyes are different to humans and even though it heals a dog eye, it may hurt your eyes-including leading to blindless!. So see a doctor to get proper medication for your eye. When it says Only for pets, it means Only FOR pets.

Same as if it says Human use, if used on pets it will hurt there eyes-including blindness.

you can but i dont advise it  you dont know the proper dosage it is likely that is formulated differently and really you don't know that this will not harm you ..
