  1. No. System requirements are not high enough for vista.  


  2. You need to list the specs at least! Some R40 models have a 2.4 GHz processor but some have a 1.4 GHz one. Even though if you have the cheapest one, it can only barely run Vista as the specs are not that good and the RAM is low. The best thing to do is buy a new computer with Vista so that way you would have no problems with compatibility.  

  3. No, but you can run a desktop that's as advanced as Vista if you install Ubuntu. Ubuntu doesn't get viruses, it has great and powerful programs, and it's entirely free. I'd check it out if you're interested in making older systems have a new life.

  4. it will run terribly, unless you get vista home basic, which is not worth it at all
