  1. I just went to Canada two weeks ago and right now all you need is proof of citizenship. (passport or copy of birth certificate) Within the next year or something everyone will need a passport, but for now a birth certificate is fine.

  2. To enter Canada from the US, he needs proof of identity and proof of citizenship.  The passport is neither.  The birth certificate can be accepted.

To go back to the US, however (by air) he absolutely must have a passport.

  3. no passport needed.

  4. You don't need a passport to travel between the U.S. and Canada unless you're not a citizen of either country.

  5. Currently, you do not need a passport to enter into Canada. As of July 2009, that will change and you'll need a passport to go anywhere. Although, the government is currently re-examining this new rule.  Your birth certificate and id will be fine.

  6. Depends on what passport you holds

  7. You don't need any papers to go to Canada from USA unless you are going to work there.

  8. The rules on this are changing daily and actually depend on what part of the Country you are from.  It use to be that all you needed was a birth certificate, now the majority of our Canadian border requires a passport.  I must tell you, the trouble is not getting into Canada, the problem is getting back into the USA.  Check with the Border Agents or your local government agencies to find out for sure.
