Can a landline phone send text messages to a cellphone?

Nope. Not possible yet.

Nope, not yet anyways. However some phone cell phone companies now allow mobile phones to send a text to a landline phone. Once your message is sent, it is read by a computer to the recipient picking up the landline phone.
