  1. Usually no, a landlord is not allowed to change your locks without your permission.

But check & read your tenancy agreement if you have one.

Different states have different laws about this, I also know in most states the tenant also isn't allowed to change the locks either without talking to the landlord and also giving the landlord to copies of the new keys.  But it varies state to state.

  2. if the rent is late, better find someone to help you pay it.... if it's paid, camp out on his doorstep until you get a key!!....take the morning off if you have to!!.....

  3. If you you are late on your rent the Landlord has to have a court order to kick you out etc. And once he has the court order he can "LEGALLY" take your stuff out and there is nothing you can do about it after your case has been heard by the judge.

  4. Seriously take "Jase's" advice then follow up with "Ryana's,"   But you should have been notified.

  5. you should submit a letter of complaint an d contact your local housing authority.  Then, ask how you can be reimbursed for the 3 days you have been unable to live in your home.

  6. Not without your consent

  7. If you have paid your rent, call the police!!

  8. If he changed the locks without permission, it is his responsibility to make sure he gets the keys to you.  I would call and tell him that you need to get into your apartment and that you are calling the police if he doesn't make satisfactory arrangements to get your keys.

Definitely check your agreement regarding policy first though.
