  1. He is in the wrong! Thats REAL f'ed up. Have you talked to a lawyer? You owe this a** nothing,b/c there was no contract. He is violating a few laws, like breaking and entering, even if your home. Distruction of property, disturbing the piece, harrassment, and more. If you are paying your month to month rent,he has absolutely no right, mistreating you and your family,I'd take this to court. This is also emotional stress.

  2. Go to this website

    http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/family/354-06...

It tells you what your renter's rights are.

    Here is an excerpt:

You have the right to be informed of a change in management, ownership, or change of property for some other use

The landlord must inform possible tenants within 6 months if there is a plan for evicting the tenants resulting from:

        * Demolition or major rehabilitation of the property or

        * Changing of the rental property to office, hotel, motel, or planned unit development.

  3. He is a jerk, but he can list it with out telling you. He cannot enter your property (house)to show to perspective buyers without a 24 hour notice. It should be in writing the first time, with an estimated time frame. After that and for 120 days after he still has to give you 24 hr. notice, but it can be verbal. I'd start looking for a new place. Since you didn't sign the lease again, you must have had that possibility on you mind anyway. Sounds like he will just get more and more obnoxious.Good luck

  4. i think this is absolutely against law and you can report against the activities of your landlord

  5. Sue his *** for harassment

Take pictures of him driving as evidence.

  6. Where at in Va?>>just curious there.Anyways,I do believe he has the right to put it up for sale. Now,that you didn't sign the lease, being on a month to month,he has EVERY right to give you a 30 day noitce to move....and unfortunatly dosen't have to give you a valid reason, except for "he's selling it".HOWEVER,I would take him to civil court because he has NO right to come in your house,yeh...your renting it,anytime he feels like it.NOr can he drive up and down the driveway all hours of the night.Contact your local police dept, and explain the situation, then, put up a NO TRESSPASSING sign.IF he comes by again, doing either things, just politely go to the phone,no big scene and call the police. Then, they will have to document him going in your house, many times, and driving up and down the driveway, many times. That is harrassment and sometimes, some landlords think they have all the rights, when it's just not so.Good luck>>>Also, contact Legal Aid services(may be able to get phone/address info through social services) to see if they can help at all.Email me or post it back ...what town i Va?You don't have to give me the location, just where abouts.I have a GREAT landlord, who has now financed mine rent to own,and NEVER bugs me.So,there are some good ones out there.
