Can a leopard gecko get fleas and if so how can you get rid of them?

  1. I've never heard of a gecko getting fleas.  How would they get into his tank?  And if he was bitten while handled, or on a bed, etc., you would see the flea.  Geckos have skin, and no scales for a flea to hide under.

    Are you seeing tiny dark dots?  Are you talking about mites?

  2. I am wondering the same thing, actually. Fleas from my dog entered the gecko's cage through the screen at the top and we found several drowned in his water dish. I know they can't live ON him, but I wonder if they are biting him the same way they bite me?

  3. no of course not they have scaly skin.a small little flea cant get in there.
