  1. if you need a liver, your alternative is death.

    for the doner....go to the BEST hospital for liver transplants and followup is very important...there used to be a lot of problems....it is better now..........each hospital has their own batting average..can't genralize about doners


  2. if you did not have jaundice, then you do not need a liver tranplant as you are not in liver failure. The time to determine when you need a liver transplant is determined by a MELD score.  You can calculate your meld score on webpage www.unos.org and look under MELD calculator
