  2. an organism "may" be theoretically live forever... An organism dies because of the disintegration or just the cells really get old and loses it's abilities to continue life, but studies I have seen says that it's because of a gene or something in the cell called telomeres that gets shorter in an everyday life of a cell so that's why the cells disintegrate,They think it can be modified or be removed to prevent aging of cells and theoretically be immortal because the cell is continually dividing and doing processes to be alive... but It would be hard.. but at least it "MAY" be, I don't know, as our technology advances we won't know what can happen, for me only time may tell...

  4. No a living organism cannot live for ever. But this may not be valid if a plant is propagated vegetaively for years together.  

  5. Well - a single-celled organism reproduces by dividing into two identical organisms (binary fission).

    This could be regarded as a form of immortality.
