I have read where souls sometimes leave their body during sleep. If this is possible, would the person remember the EVP session upon awaking? The person I may want to try this with lives in another state.

  1. What would be the difference between that and talking in your sleep?

For experimental purposes, your friend needs to write down what it is they anticipate on saying, especially if you live in a different state and plan on recording the session.

So that way, when you listen to your recording, you can see whether or not contact was made.

Sounds more like an astral traveling event than anything.

And even those are as hard to prove as being bona-fide like angels and demons.

  2. on theory, yes.

  3. Not by definition.  EVP stands for electronic voice phenomenon.  In order to call a recording an EVP, you should not have been able to hear the voice naturally.  It would be heard only after reviewing the recording.  I have heard of recordings being made during a sceance, only to have a different voice on the recording that was not heard during the session.

Good luck with your experiment.  I would like to know how it works for you.

  4. I love working with EVP.  That is something I have not thought of before and I find it very interesting.  One of the theories of EVP is that it is produced by a living person on a subconscious level,  rather than anyone that is dead.  If that were true then it might be possible to do what you suggest.  The paranormal world is full of possibilities.

  5. This experiment, to my knowledge, hasn't actually been tried. The big question is, would they remember to be able to speak.

If you can hear the voice, it's not EVP, but if it's a living person they should be able to identify things like televisions, computers, DVD's, etc., so this could be verification of someone who is alive, etc.
