Can a mailman give away your address?

Usps dropped a package off at my house and they came back because it was some1 else and then the owner of that package came to my house complaining.The usps carrier gave them my address.Can they do that?Thanks

  1. I would think it would be illegal to give your address to anyone.


  2. He's not suppose to do that .It was his mistake for dropping itat the wrong place . It was his job to come back to pick it up and deliver it to the rightful owner.

  4. Check with UPS as to their rules. IF someone came to my house I would be upset. IF it was an accident, then the people who missed the delivery  should not be hostile or mad at you.  But mad at UPS.  I would call UPS and complain that your address was given out especially since UPS came back to get the package.  Had you opened the package?
