  1. i think its better if women give the first greetings.

  2. You can and must greet and show respect to all ppl.

  3. the nighbour of prophet mohammad was a jew and used to greet her and visited her when she was ill

  4. It is  permissible for men to greet women with salaam and vice versa, according to the most correct opinion, but this greeting must be free of anything that may provoke desire in the person in whose heart is a disease.

If there is fear of fitnah being provoked by this greeting, then the woman should refrain from either initiating or returning the greeting, because warding off fitnah by neglecting the greeting is warding off mischief, and warding off mischief takes precedence over doing something useful.

So I guess it depends on the intention, as I know men misuse this greeting! o_O

  5. I actually 'heard' Salaam(Alaikum) cannot be said to 3 kinds of people: A Kafir, a person who drinks Alcohol, and a non-mehram.

Now I'm not sure the authenticity of his, or if it's Hadith. Who is going to clarify?

  6. seems fine to me !!
