  1. These days you needa passport to travel to Mexico.  No exeptions.


  2. You need a passport. The San Ysidro crossing to San Diego will accept a photo ID like a DL right now, they can't keep you out of your home country, but it will be a hassle.

No, No, NO,...passports re NOT needed for LAND travel to and from Mexico now.  You need  photo I.D. and a proff of citizenship..which can be either an assport OR a certified birth certificate.  See site below to raed the current info.  Passports for LAND travel requirement has no set date, but will prob. be summer 2009.
