Can a mechanical engineer get a job as a car mechanic? ?

Can you get a degree in mechanical engineering and then work for a good car company like Mercedes-Benz as a mechanic who fixes engines or collision repair?Will you have more experience than a grad from UTI or Wyotech? Thank you for any help

a mechanical engineer may have the theoretical knowledge but not the practical knowledge and experience to become a car mechanic. if he/she wants to become a car mechanic should spend the same time spent for their graduation.
